Upgrading From Version 5 Desktop

Both the download and system locations are needed if previous data is to be retained.

If Binfer version 5 (desktop) was previously installed, and it is currently active/running, then please follow the steps to upgrade from version 5 to version 6.

  1. From the left menu, click on SETTINGS > DOWNLOADS.
  2. Note/copy the Download folder location.
  3. From the left menu, click EXIT. Binfer should close completely.
  4. For desktop, the system path is usually c:\Users{USER NAME}\Binfer. If in doubt, examine the path and ensure that there are files and folders under there.
  5. Uninstall the Binfer desktop application either from the installation folder or from the add/remove programs.

After following the steps, both the system and download paths should be available to be used during Binfer 6 installation.
