Modules

Modules are software components of Binfer that provide a specific data transfer capability. Each module works on its own, independent of other modules. The current modules offerd by Binfer are

Job

A job is a specific data transfer task that Binfer provides. Send, Receive, Sync, and Transfer are different kind of jobs that can be perfomed by Binfer. A job is typically created by clicking on the ADD button.

Jobs summary is the middle area of the jobs modules. A list of all created jobs are displayed here.

Private Cloud

Binfer portable app

Binfer portable app is not installed on the computer. It is a temporary application than can be launched with having to install. It does not require system elevated privileges. If your company is governed by strict IT policies then you may want to check wiht them before proceeding wiht the portable app.

Scanning

Process where the specified directory or sub-directory is scanned to look for changes to files and folders. The scanning time will depend on the amount of files present in the specified directory.

Encryption

Compression

Compression is set by selecting a value from 1 to 9. The compression level, defines how rigorously the compressor attempts to compress the file. In general, compressing at the maximum level (9) requires around twice as much processor time as compressing at the minimum level (1).

  1. Compression will not work if built-in network encryption is checked. 2. Compression must be set on the receiving side.
