Binfer message is like an email message. It may contain: 1. Recipients, 2. Subject, 3. Description and 4. Files. Even though it looks like a standard email message, the similarity ends there. The protocols and file transfer engine are different from that of an email system. Each message is monitored for delivery and is marked as delivered when all recipients have received all files. Types of messages:
Standard MessageA standard message must have recipients. Files can be downloaded via a web browser or the app. Message option can be set to disallow web downloads. When a message is sent using the New Message form, it cannot be changed. The message is added to the Outbox and remains there until deleted.
- Open Message
- Send a Message with a description that can be read from the receivers email client.
- Secure Message
- Similiar to an 'Open Message' but the description is also hidden until the receiver opens the Message. Opening the Message will create a direct connection between sender and receiver, only then will the description and attached files appear.
- Open Message
A link message does not have recipients. Files can be downloaded only with a web browser via the direct URL or by entering its unique code.
Web Pickup is a method by which recipients can receive files using a web browser, without having to install anything. Web Pickup has to be enabled by the sender before sending the message and files count cannot exceed 100.
Chat allows two Binfer users to communicate completely off-the-record. Chat messages are fully encrypted and never exist on any third party servers. Even we at Binfer could never recover a chat conversation that was had between two Binfer users!
When files are dropped over a Chat window, a 'Private Conversation' is automatically created with the person you are chatting with. As more files are added, they will get added to the same conversation and downloaded to the same location on the hard disk. The files will be downloaded in accordance with the version control policy set by you.
Web Drop is a widget by which people can send files to you using a web browser, without having to install anything. Once a Web Drop is created, it can be added/embedded to any website or blog with few simple lines of code.
Synchronize devices using Binfer's rules system. It is easy to sync devices, backup machines, and keep entire networks on the same page.
Private cloud is a special mode that allows you to create a secure and private file sharing and communication network. You can add users to your network without having to create accounts for them. All data will pass only through your network.
